I had a blast visiting family in NY and I’m so excited to share my adventures with you(and some outfits😏) on the blog today! NYC is basically where I want to live(ideally) after college so naturally I had to visit the city a numerous times. I’m going to separate the post into individuals days that were significant. Hope you guys enjoy!!
Ok after getting in on Thursday and having a good nights sleep, my dad and I headed to the city to do some shopping(well so I could do some shopping🙈)
We took the subway to 49th street and I got flashbacks of taking the subway with my friends back in high school during a city field trip.(If any of them are reading this- does bring it around town ring a bell?😂) My favorite part of riding the subway was seeing the hustle and bustle of people making their way to work. I especially loved seeing the fashion. New Yorkers are so stylish! I take pride in wearing put together outfits during school but usually feel odd wearing a skirt and blouse combo in my history class… but I did not feel out of place here let me tell you.🙈
Once we arrived in the city I immediately went shopping. I was suprised at how many deals I snagged!
My first find happened to be in H & M👀
The city was a dream and I really didn’t want to wake up from it🌃✨
If any of you are a fan of Gilmore Girls, this might be your favorite post. The town my uncle and aunt live in pretty much screams Stars Hollow. Anyways, my dad and I drove up to Connecticut and spent the day with my aunt and uncle on my dad’s side. My aunt is an artist and her loft is filled with paintings, trinkets, and dolls. She has a love for old Hollywoodesque decor, and has items sprinkled throughout their apartment. I was so in love with how she decorated the place! After perusing her apartment for a bit, she showed me her personal library. I was in LOVE. She had stacks of classics, biographies, and religious texts from all over the world. I was happy just basking in the beauty of all the books, but she insisted I take a couple home with me. I decided to bring home a Hemingway classic, and a biography of Cleopatra. We talked a bit more and then ate lunch at a great Buffett place. I left my phone at the apartment to charge so I don’t have pictures but you have to trust me that this food was amazing(and I love food)
My favorite part of the day besides the food and books was taking a walk to a carnival by the beach. We spent sometime walking around before my dad and I had to drive back to NY.
My Grandpa and Aunt flew in and we were able to hang out with them before we left on Tuesday. After we chatted for awhile we decided to spend the night in downtown manhatten and grab dinner there. If you follow me on snap chat you would have seen to gigantic pizza slice I enjoyed, but sadly I didn’t save my pictures of my food from that night(going to blame it on the food coma🙈) We walked downtown and saw the World Trade Center, a replica of the Sistine chapel, and also got to see the Famous girl in front of the bull before it gets taken down. I didn’t exactly manage to perfect my Wonder Woman esque selfie with the girl but I did get a candid that reflects my goofy personality.
During my last full day in the city we decided to venture to Jersey and do even more shopping(I’m not complaining🙈). We went to the mill and as an avid shopper I can honestly say I was overwhelmed. There were so many stores and all of them had outlet prices. I picked up quite a few things that I intend on doing a haul(hopefully vlog style) soon! Here is another dressing room pic to tide you over till then😏
Well! I hope you enjoyed reading this super long post to make up for not posting for awhile! I loved seeing the city I will *hopefully* thrive, have babies, and have a career in😍 Thank you for taking the time to read through this and I will see you all soon😘
